Construction and Insulation
The Thermacore door uses a continuous foam core between steel skins. Overhead Door states Thermacore construction provides a continuous layer of foamed-in-place, CFC-free polyurethane insulation sandwiched between two layers of corrosion-resistant steel. This forms a rigid three-layer system.
The door also seals between sections to limit air movement. Overhead Door describes in-between section thermal seals with an air infiltration rating of up to 0.08 cfm that provide superior resistance to the elements.
R-Value and Warranty by Series
Thermacore ships in several series with rising R-values. The 5720 Series carries an R-value of 9.31 and a 20-year limited warranty. The 5740 Series reaches an R-value of 12.76.
The top series delivers the highest insulation. The 5760 Series carries an R-value of 17.5. Both the 5740 and 5760 series carry a limited lifetime warranty.
